About the Aspen Highlands Metro District

The Aspen Highlands Metro District is located at the base of the world renowned Aspen Highlands Ski Area. The Metro District owns and operates the roadways, Founder’s Plaza, pocket parks and open space areas, snow-melt systems, an immense irrigation system, bridges, street lights and more.

Beach Resource Management worked with the Developer to organize two metro districts in 1998 and has provided professional management services to the Districts since their inception. The Districts are served by a volunteer elected Board of Directors and through an intergovernmental agreement the Commercial District manages, operates, and maintains all municipal assets and functions.

The combined market value of commercial and residential properties at Aspen Highlands is just under $500,000,000 and the ski area, which commenced operations in 1957, has some of the most incredible bowl skiing in Colorado. The top of Highland Peak is 12,392 feet and provides unparalleled views of numerous fourteen thousand foot peaks.
