About the Five Trees Metro District

Five Trees Metropolitan District is located just north of the Aspen Highlands Ski Area along Maroon Creek Road at Moore Drive. The District is very unique in that it owns and maintains a private fixed-grip ski lift. As a Metropolitan District it provides municipal services to a residential community of approximately 179 acres approximating $225,000,000 in current market value. The FiveTrees community includes open meadows, forested hillsides of Gamble oak, quaking aspen, Colorado blue spruce, Englemann spruce and Douglas fir – the dominant five trees of the area. FiveTrees also includes Nordic and Alpine ski trails, summer hiking trails and an estimated forty acres of purple penstemon. As an area separated from “downtown,” it also boasts a wildlife population of fox, coyote, numerous hawk species, owls, mule deer, black bear, and the occasional ferret.

Beach Resource Management worked with the Developer to organize the Metro District in 2000 and has provided professional management services to the District since its inception. The District is served by a volunteer elected Board of Directors. Currently the Board members include President and Chairman David Parker, Vice-President Eve Whiston, Treasurer Bob Bowden and Secretary Steve Buettow.
